The Canon of Ethics as cited in Fire and Life Safety Educator by Pam Powell and published by Fire Service Publications (IFSTA) has been added to our regular page directory. Please look for it in the links in the right hand directory.
We have a great way to communicate with each other? Did you forget? Have you been too busy? Do you not have anything to share, ask, or discuss about fire and life safety education? Hmmm.

We now have a Google email user group to help us stay connected. Use this to communicate outside of normal meetings, when you have questions about fire and life safety education, when you want to share or discuss a hot topic, or when you want to contribute in any way to help other safety educators.

Instructions for using this site are now posted under the “Site Instructions” link on the right hand menu. For now, there is information on how to create an account, log in, and update your profile. Instructions for becoming a site author are also included.
If you are a registered site member, you can also comment on existing posts (encouraged). This is somewhat self-explanatory, but a tutorial will be added very soon to show you the details. Just look for the comment information at the bottom of each article. There is a link to “leave a response.” You should be able to walk yourself through it.
I hope you like the new GOFSEA page format. This should be much easier to navigate.
I’ll be adding a tutorial section for you in the near future. Those that are already familiar with RSS feeds can subscribe to this site. Then you can have all the updates as soon as they happen!
This site will also allow the membership to add comments. Do you have something you want to share? Do you want to comment on one of the stories you see in this column? You can! Just register (link on the lower right) and you can login to your account so that you can comment. Each story will have it’s own page (click on the story headline). At the bottom of the story is a comment box. You can add your insight or feedback.
Get involved. GOFSEA’s mission is to share! If you have something that the membership might be able to use to improve their programs, share it here. If you have something that you’re proud of, share it here! If you have a comment about a current safety topic, concern or action, say it here!
Let’s return GOFSEA to a sharing, giving, learning organization.
